IASS (Information, Advice & Support Service)
A new information, advice and support service (IASS) will replace Parent Voice and Support4SEND.
We have been informed by Hampshire County Council that as of 1 January 2019, the Information Advice and Support Service (IASS), which is currently provided by Parent Voice and Support4SEND, will change.
The Support4SEND and Parent Voice services are combining to form a single Special Educational Needs and Disability Information and Advice Service (SENDIAS) for Hampshire, which will be operated by an independent provider: Core Assets Children's Services. Hampshire County Council has assured us that there will be no interruption to the support families are receiving during the transition period. However, it is not possible to guarantee that the support will be from the same worker. Hampshire County Council will update families with further details, at the earliest opportunity, once all the arrangements have been finalised.
Hampshire Parent Carer Network was involved with informing HCC what our parents and carers wanted from an IAS service; we heavily encouraged the Local Authority to retain face-to-face contact with parent carers and we hope this will be part of Core Assets' plan.
We have now been asked to Chair a new SENDIAS (Special Education Needs and Disability Information and Advice Service) Steering Group which will be progressed at beginning of next year. If you would like to get involved with this, we would love to hear from you. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org
